Most rental websites show one cart from a flattering angle. This page shows the fleet as it actually is, parked in town, out on the coast road, and being handed over to guests.
Look at the seats, the roofs and the tyres rather than the scenery. Those are the parts that tell you how a rental company treats its carts, and they are the parts you will be sitting on for a week.

What to Look for in a Rental Cart
Three things worth checking in any rental company's photos, including ours, before you hand over a card.
Roof coverage
How far the roof extends over the rear bench decides whether the back row spends midday in shade or in full sun.
Tyres
Tread and even wear. A cart with bald tyres on a wet sand road is the one thing here that genuinely worries us.
Where These Photos Were Taken
Almost all of them are within a few minutes of the Boca Del Rio area, on the coast road, and around San Pedro Town. That is the ground most guests cover in the first two days.
The stretch north over the bridge leads on towards Secret Beach, which is where most of our carts spend at least one day of every rental. South of the airstrip the road quietens down and the drive itself becomes the point.

Handovers and Deliveries
A good number of these photos were taken at handover, which is where most rentals start: the airstrip, the water taxi terminal, or a hotel forecourt.
It takes a couple of minutes. Licence check, keys, a walk around the cart together so we both agree on its condition, and a word about fuel and the bridge. Then you drive away and we get out of your holiday.

What guests ask when they are comparing photos across rental companies and trying to work out what is real.
Yes. Every photo on this page is one of our own carts on Ambergris Caye, not a stock image of a cart somewhere else.
You can ask, and we will do our best, though what we can promise is the size and condition rather than a particular vehicle on a particular date.
That is the intention. Each one is washed, rinsed of salt and fully inspected between rentals, so it should reach you looking much like these.
They belong to the company, so please ask first. If you have taken a good photo with one of our carts, we would happily see it.
Taking Your Own Golf Cart Photos on the Island
Guests take better photos here than we do, mostly because they are not in a hurry. If you are hoping to come home with a good one, a few things help.
- Early morning light on the coast road north of the bridge
- Late afternoon at Secret Beach, once the day crowd thins out
- The sand streets around Boca Del Rio, which look like nowhere else
- Park properly first, since a cart across a driveway spoils any photo
Tag us on Instagram if you post one. The best guest photos regularly end up doing more for the island than anything we shoot ourselves.
What You Are Looking At
The fleet in these photos is entirely gas powered, in two sizes, and kept deliberately uniform. That is not a lack of variety, it is how we can promise the same condition regardless of which cart is free on your dates.
Carts are replaced as they age rather than run into the ground, so the newer photos on this page show what is going out now. If a specific cart in a picture matters to you, mention it when you book and we will tell you honestly whether it is likely to be free.
